The company seeks a Scientist Lab Technician for Assay Development in Rotkreuz. The role focuses on creating molecular diagnostic tests using PCR technology, managing the product lifecycle from feasibility to launch, and collaborating across multiple departments.
This position supports the Assay Development team in designing and refining molecular diagnostic and screening tests for infectious diseases, genomics, and oncology. The role oversees the entire product lifecycle, starting with early feasibility studies and continuing through to commercial launch, while coordinating closely with Research, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, and Business teams.
Responsibilities
- Create initial prototypes and refine assay designs to satisfy product specifications and ensure they can be manufactured effectively.
- Establish test methods and define acceptance criteria.
- Hand over reagent manufacturing instructions, test methods, and workflows to the Operations team.
- Plan and carry out verification and validation activities, including guard-band studies, stability assessments, and technical performance evaluations.
- Record analytical performance data for product labeling and regulatory submission documents.
- Operate high-throughput laboratory equipment and analyzers.
- Perform routine laboratory tasks involving infectious samples and lead independent experiments, including data analysis.
- Organize and execute various work packages for molecular diagnostics test development.
- Attend project meetings and present experimental findings.
- Maintain precise records of experiments in electronic lab journals in compliance with GMP Standards.
- Handle and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Conduct statistical data analysis using various software tools, such as JMP.
- Draft official documentation, including Design History Files.
Requirements
- A degree as a Biomedical Analyst Scientist (BMA HF), an apprenticeship as a Lab Technician (Biology, Medical Diagnostics, Chemistry), or a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences with practical laboratory experience. PhD graduates are not considered.
- At least two years of laboratory experience, including data analysis and biostatistics.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Nice to have
- Laboratory experience in a biotechnical setting involving infectious sample handling at Biosafety Level 2.
- Experience working in a GMP/GLP environment.
- German language proficiency.
