The company is seeking a Lab Technician for Assay Development in Rotkreuz, CH. This 1-year contract role focuses on creating molecular diagnostic tests using PCR technology, requiring strong lab skills and data analysis abilities.
This position supports the Assay Development team in designing molecular diagnostic and screening tests for infectious diseases, genomics, and oncology. The role involves collaborating with Research, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, and Business departments to advance these projects.
Responsibilities
- Operate high-throughput laboratory analyzers and perform routine testing with infectious samples.
- Lead and analyze independent experiments as part of molecular diagnostic test development.
- Plan and execute various work packages related to assay development.
- Participate in project meetings and present experimental findings.
- Maintain precise documentation of experiments in electronic lab journals in compliance with GMP standards.
- Handle and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Perform statistical data analysis using software tools such as JMP.
- Draft official documentation, including Design History Files.
Requirements
- Hold a degree as a Biomedical Analyst Scientist (BMA HF), an apprenticeship as a Lab Technician (Biology, Medical Diagnostics, Chemistry), or a Bachelor/Master in Life Sciences with practical lab experience (PhD graduates are not considered).
- Possess at least two years of laboratory experience, including data analysis and biostatistics.
- Demonstrate excellent documentation skills.
- Be fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Work effectively as an open-minded team player.
- Maintain a proactive, organized, and flexible approach to work.
- Exhibit strategic thinking and the ability to work independently.
Nice to have
- Experience in a biotechnical environment handling infectious samples at Biosafety Level 2.
- Familiarity with GMP or GLP environments.
