Laboratory Specialist Performance Verification (m/f/d)

Roche seeks a Laboratory Specialist for Performance Verification within the BGE Team in Rotkreuz. This one-year fixed-term role focuses on validating new blood gas and electrolytes products to support market launches.

Positioned within the System Integration & Verification BGE (Blood Gas & Electrolytes) Team in Rotkreuz, this temporary one-year contract plays a vital part in ensuring the robust performance verification of new BGE products. The position is critical for supporting successful market launches by validating early-stage development lots and prototype systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and analyze complex test protocols to identify system issues and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop, validate, and maintain accurate reference methods that serve as performance benchmarks.
• Prepare precise technical documentation and reports required for regulatory submissions.
• Conduct hands-on testing of early-stage development lots and prototype systems.
• Plan, execute, and report on verification and development studies, documenting all findings in electronic lab notebooks.
• Prepare, contrive, and manipulate whole blood samples to achieve target analyte concentrations.
• Support equipment qualification processes and manage the ordering of chemicals and consumables.
• Work safely with potentially infectious human blood samples in strict accordance with biosafety guidelines.

Requirements

• A degree (BSc, MSc, or equivalent) in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Technology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
• Proven experience in the In-Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) or medical device industry, specifically in system integration, verification, or validation.
• Hands-on experience with blood biochemistry, pipetting, and preparing contrived whole-blood samples.
• Familiarity working under regulated environments and documenting work in electronic lab notebooks.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
