Roche seeks a Senior Specialist for Hardware & Software in Rotkreuz, CH. This onsite role involves advanced troubleshooting, technical expertise, and project leadership for global customer support.

As a member of the Global Customer Support team, this position focuses on supporting products available on the market. The specialist provides advanced second-level troubleshooting and acts as a technical authority on complex projects that demand a deep understanding of various systems and products.

Responsibilities

  • Handles intricate Level 2 support cases by leveraging deep expertise in hardware maintenance and network concepts.
  • Maintains service manuals by updating content, retiring obsolete documents, and verifying the accuracy of all published materials.
  • Chairs design review committees, offering service insights, approving design modifications, and generating required documentation.
  • Designs and updates training programs, instructs diverse audiences, and performs audits to maintain training standards.
  • Defines service needs for development initiatives, promotes functional objectives, and partners with teams to resolve difficult issues.
  • Generates service documentation for internal and external training prior to Launch Decision and for ongoing products as required.
  • Applies basic project management techniques to guarantee projects are finished on schedule and meet quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Microbiology, Information Technology, or a related field, or comparable professional experience.
  • Four years of progressive experience, including three years specifically within the industry or diagnostics sector.
  • Five years of technical support experience in customer-facing positions, covering troubleshooting, training, and working with electromechanical devices.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux commands and navigating log files via the command line interface (CLI).
  • Capability to interpret electrical, mechanical, and assembly drawings, schematics, and service manuals.
  • Skilled in operating test equipment like digital multimeters and calibrated gauges, as well as hand tools such as screwdrivers and wrenches.
  • Experience with sequencing instruments and NGS technologies, demonstrating knowledge of sample preparation workflows and Molecular Biology/Biochemistry concepts.
