ETH Zurich seeks a Laboratory Technician to support RNA Biology research through biochemical experiments, cell culture, and lab maintenance in Zürich.
This position is part of a research group dedicated to RNA Biology and Disease Mechanisms. The primary goal is to ensure the laboratory operates efficiently while supporting various scientific projects. The role involves conducting fundamental biochemical research within an international team.
Responsibilities
- Provide flexible assistance to other team members on their specific projects.
- Perform cloning procedures for protein expression and carry out purification from bacterial and insect cells.
- Maintain mammalian tissue culture cell lines, including transformation, generation of stable lines, and analysis of expression patterns.
- Keep accurate records of laboratory activities and update internal databases.
- Manage the coordination and scheduling of repairs and maintenance for laboratory equipment.
Requirements
- Completion of an apprenticeship as a laboratory technician OR a Master's degree in biochemistry, biology, or a related discipline.
- Practical experience with molecular, cell biological, and biochemical methods.
- Fluent proficiency in both spoken and written English.

- Prior experience in handling RNA.
- Good command of the German language.
