Laboratory Technician in Genomics/Transcriptomics

ETH Zurich seeks a Junior Laboratory Technician for its NGS Services unit in Zürich. The position involves routine sample quality control, library preparation, and operating next-generation sequencers on-site.

This position is embedded within the NGS Services unit at ETH Zurich. The primary purpose of the role is to support service laboratory operations focused on next-generation sequencing activities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine quality control checks on biological samples.
• Prepare sequencing libraries for downstream analysis.
• Operate and perform maintenance on state-of-the-art sequencing instruments.

Requirements

• Completion of formal training as a laboratory technician, a Bachelor of Science in Biology, or an equivalent credential.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience working in either a research or diagnostic laboratory setting.
• Advanced proficiency in English, which serves as the primary working language.
• Possession of a valid Swiss residency permit at the time of application.
