Lecturer and Head of Study Programm MSc Resilient Cities and Communities

Bfh seeks a Senior Lecturer to lead the MSc Resilient Cities and Communities programme in Biel, CH. This part-time hybrid role requires expertise in urban planning, teaching, and programme management.

Based within the School of Architecture, Wood and Civil Engineering, this position focuses on the planning and design of the built environment and sustainable living solutions. The primary objective is to lead the MSc Resilient Cities and Communities programme, overseeing its strategic direction and daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Direct the development, organization, and ongoing operation of the MSc Resilient Cities and Communities programme.
• Oversee curriculum design, teaching methodologies, quality assurance processes, resource allocation, and financial oversight.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and facilitate knowledge exchange between academic teaching, research activities, and professional practice.
• Act as the programme representative on various internal and external committees.
• Conduct lectures for both Bachelor's and Master's students within the field of resilient urban environments.

Requirements

• Hold a university degree in a relevant discipline.
• Demonstrate extensive practical experience in urban development, planning, or related sectors, preferably with managerial responsibilities.
• Be a recognized expert in the field with a strong professional network.
• Possess prior teaching and leadership experience in a university context, supported by excellent communication skills.
• Have an excellent command of English.
• Have German or French as a second language.
