EPFL seeks a Program Manager to lead continuing education and applied innovation initiatives in Lausanne, bridging research teams with external partners.
This position focuses on expanding and overseeing the continuing education portfolio while supporting applied innovation efforts. The role serves as a liaison between internal engineering and research groups and external academic, industrial, and public-sector stakeholders. A key objective is to interpret partner requirements and convert them into impactful training courses, events, and collaborative projects.
Responsibilities
- Independently create and manage training programs for executives, AI specialists, and general workforce development.
- Identify potential leads, define project scopes, design curricula, and supervise program delivery.
- Organize and execute community-building activities, including hackathons, conferences, and workshops.
- Act as the primary representative for the organization when engaging with academic institutions, industry partners, and continuing education entities.
- Develop educational content in AI and data science, and deliver courses or hands-on workshops as needed.
- Process inquiries and manage leads for applied research collaborations.
- Coordinate responses to project funding calls and manage related administrative processes.
- Oversee client contracting procedures in collaboration with academic legal services.
- Manage institutional communications via the designated official contact mailbox.
Requirements
- Demonstrated background in program or project management.
- Solid comprehension of data science principles and artificial intelligence.
- Familiarity with the Swiss academic and innovation ecosystem.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation abilities to engage stakeholders from executive levels to researchers.
- Prior experience in organizing large-scale events such as conferences, workshops, or hackathons.
- Fluency in both English and French.
Nice to have
- Background in continuing education, innovation management, or technology transfer.
- Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g., data science, engineering, business, education) or equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency in German.
