Machine Learning Engineer

Kanadevia Inova seeks a Mid-Senior Machine Learning Engineer in Zürich to industrialize AI solutions that convert waste into energy, hydrogen, and fertilizer.

This position supports the company’s mission as a global leader in waste infrastructure by transforming experimental AI models into robust, production-grade applications. The engineer will help turn waste materials into valuable resources such as energy, heat, hydrogen, and fertilizer through scalable machine learning systems.

Responsibilities

• Convert prototype AI models into scalable, production-ready applications.
• Build and maintain end-to-end MLOps pipelines for training, validation, deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
• Partner with data scientists, engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to deliver AI solutions.
• Ensure reliability, security, compliance, data integrity, performance, and governance across the machine learning lifecycle.
• Monitor and optimize model performance, troubleshoot production issues, and mentor junior team members.

Requirements

• MSc in Computer Science or a STEM field with a strong computer science focus.
• Experience working in agile software development environments.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn.
• Solid understanding of MLOps practices, including model deployment, versioning, monitoring, and lifecycle management in production environments.
• Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure), containerisation technologies (Docker), APIs, databases, and distributed systems.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of data engineering and data processing frameworks.
• Experience with industrial IoT, time-series data, computer vision, or Physics-AI solutions is advantageous.
