Male Boarding Houseparent – Term time only

Brillantmont International School SA seeks a Male Boarding Houseparent for a full-time, term-time residential role starting August 2026. The position focuses on pastoral care, student supervision, and boarding house management without teaching duties.

This full-time residential position, beginning in August 2026, serves as a vital component of the Pastoral Team. The role is dedicated entirely to boarding house operations and student welfare, with no teaching responsibilities involved.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the boarding house operates smoothly through effective communication between students and staff.
• Act as a professional role model for boarding students in both conduct and appearance.
• Manage student discipline and enforce school rules consistently.
• Support the Head of Boarding or Senior Houseparent by encouraging student involvement in clubs, activities, and trips.
• Compile weekly student monitoring notes and report any concerns to the Head of Boarding.
• Maintain high standards of dress, punctuality, and attendance.
• Serve as a positive role model in professional and private life.
• Participate actively in the busy weekend programme.
• Supervise daily study periods.
• Handle airport transfers for students.
• Collaborate with the Head of Boarding on all boarding-related matters and provide accurate reports.
• Promote the School’s Guiding and Mission Statements actively.

Requirements

• Hold a European or Swiss passport or a valid Swiss residence permit.
• Possess a Swiss driving license (category B) and be comfortable driving a 9-seat minibus.
• Have prior experience in boarding or similar roles with students aged 11-18.
• Be fluent in English; French knowledge is an asset.
• Be committed to safeguarding young people and adhering to the School’s Safeguarding Policy.
• Have experience supervising a team.
• Be dynamic, proactive, and a strong team player.
• Be flexible, sensible, and approachable.
• Be an effective communicator, especially with teenagers.
