Male Boarding Houseparent

Brillantmont International School seeks a full-time residential Male Boarding Houseparent in Vevey to oversee student well-being and house operations without teaching duties.

This full-time residential position focuses entirely on the care, discipline, and personal development of boarding students aged 11 to 18, rather than academic instruction. The Houseparent is tasked with maintaining a safe, supportive, and internationally minded atmosphere, ensuring that every student feels guided and secure within the school community.

Responsibilities

• Foster a family-like environment built on trust, guidance, and mutual support.
• Monitor the physical, mental, and emotional health of students, reporting any concerns to the Head of Boarding.
• Enforce the School’s Safeguarding Policy strictly and collaborate with the Health Department while maintaining confidentiality.
• Support students in overcoming academic challenges and encourage a strong sense of academic ambition.
• Promote personal responsibility, good hygiene, and respectful conduct among residents.
• Help students document their experiences and reflect on their learning journey.
• Organize team-building activities that highlight internationalism, global awareness, tolerance, and sustainability.
• Facilitate cultural exchange and integration among students from diverse national backgrounds.
• Oversee the daily operations and smooth running of the Boarding House.

Requirements

• Hold a European or Swiss passport, or possess a valid Swiss residence permit.
• Have a valid Swiss category B driving license and be comfortable driving a 9-seat minibus.
• Possess prior experience in boarding settings or similar roles involving students aged 11-18.
• Be fluent in English for daily work communication.
• Demonstrate experience in supervising teams.
• Exhibit a dynamic, proactive, and flexible approach as a team player.
• Show a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of the French language.
