MSL Narcolepsy - Diagnostic Pathway - (Fixed Term 12 months)

Takeda Pharma AG seeks a Medical Science Liaison for Narcolepsy in Switzerland for a 12-month fixed-term role. The position focuses on improving diagnostic pathways for NT1 through scientific exchange and stakeholder engagement.

The company is looking for an individual contributor to act as the Field Medical Lead during the launch phase in Switzerland. This position aims to close the diagnostic gap for Narcolepsy Type 1 by enhancing disease awareness, refining referral networks, and assisting sleep specialists and Centres of Excellence in better identifying and managing patients.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain trusted relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, healthcare providers, medical societies, and patient advocacy groups throughout Switzerland.
• Facilitate high-quality, compliant, and non-promotional scientific discussions to communicate clinical value.
• Increase awareness of Narcolepsy Type 1 across various medical specialties, including primary care, psychiatry, pulmonology, neurology, and sleep medicine.
• Work with medical societies and Centres of Excellence to develop diagnostic standards, referral algorithms, and red-flag criteria.
• Assist healthcare professionals in improving the identification, referral, and follow-up of NT1 patients in line with local practices.
• Gather, analyze, and share structured field insights to guide medical strategy and optimize field activities.
• Represent the Medical Affairs department at scientific congresses, advisory boards, and investigator meetings.
• Support evidence-generation initiatives and other medical activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional launch teams in Medical, Commercial, and Market Access to align with the overall launch strategy.
• Utilize CRM systems, analytics, digital tools, and AI-enabled platforms to enhance scientific engagements.
• Maintain advanced therapeutic-area and product knowledge, spending most time engaging with external stakeholders.
• Ensure all interactions comply with company policies, standard operating procedures, laws, regulations, and industry codes.

Requirements

• Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, or MSc).
• At least 4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including field medical or MSL roles.
• Fluency in English and German.
• Willingness to travel 60–70% across Switzerland.
• Valid driving licence.
• Strong understanding of the regulatory, legal, and ethical framework for non-promotional engagement.

Nice to have

• Experience in competitive specialty markets.
• Knowledge of neuroscience, sleep disorders, or narcolepsy.
• Proficiency in French or Italian.
