Network Engineer – Palo Alto SD-WAN / Prisma Access

PROSTAFF Schweiz GmbH seeks a Mid-level Network Engineer in Zürich to manage Palo Alto SD-WAN and Prisma Access infrastructure for an international client.

This position supports a demanding network infrastructure initiative within a globally active organization. The engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and high-performance network solutions, ensuring reliability and optimal connectivity across the enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain core network components such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN gateways, while applying Quality of Service policies.
• Roll out and manage Palo Alto SD-WAN architectures to enhance network speed, uptime, and security posture.
• Operate Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN services integrated with Prisma Access to secure remote and branch office connections.
• Execute routine system maintenance, including applying patches, hotfixes, service packs, and hardening security configurations.
• Monitor network health proactively to guarantee high availability and rapid response to potential issues.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity bottlenecks and performance degradation to minimize operational downtime.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, security, and cloud specialists, to align network strategies.
• Develop and keep up-to-date detailed documentation for network setups, operational workflows, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Continuously refine network resilience, performance metrics, and security controls.

Requirements

• Three to five years of direct, hands-on experience in network engineering roles.
• Deep proficiency with networking protocols, specifically TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF.
• Strong grasp of enterprise network architecture design and fundamental network security concepts.
• Practical expertise in deploying and managing Palo Alto ION or CloudGenix SD-WAN platforms.
• Demonstrated experience configuring and supporting Palo Alto GlobalProtect solutions.
• Commitment to working on-site at the Zürich location.

Nice to have

• Prior experience implementing or managing Prisma Access solutions.
• Familiarity with network monitoring platforms, particularly SolarWinds Orion.
