Urban Connect AG seeks a Mid-level Operations Engineer in Schlieren to manage fleet operations, hardware deployments, and process improvements within a hybrid work model.
This position supports the scaling of the company's operational engine, sitting at the intersection of hardware, software, and real-world delivery. The role is critical to the backbone of service, covering fleet management, maintenance, and customer support to ensure successful growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead operational projects from start to finish, including hardware rollouts, fleet onboarding, and process optimization.
- Develop and refine scalable operational procedures, such as standard operating procedures, checklists, and escalation paths.
- Coordinate on-site hardware installations, handling site assessments, planning, commissioning, and quality assurance.
- Oversee daily fleet activities, ensuring vehicle availability, coordinating maintenance, and resolving issues.
- Manage relationships with external partners, including maintenance providers and suppliers, to ensure quality and timeline adherence.
- Assist with procurement tasks, including vendor evaluation, sourcing, and inventory tracking.
- Collaborate with the technology team on hardware-software integration, IoT monitoring, and operational tooling.
- Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies, track key performance indicators, and drive continuous improvement.
- Support customer onboarding from an operational perspective to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
Requirements
- A degree in engineering, such as mechanical, electrical, industrial, or software engineering.
- Strong project management abilities to plan complex rollouts and track multiple moving parts.
- Comfort working at the intersection of hardware and software, with an understanding of connected systems.
- Strong analytical skills to use data for decision-making.
- Excellent written and spoken proficiency in both German and English.
Nice to have
- Experience in mobility, fleet management, EV charging, or smart infrastructure.
- Familiarity with IoT systems, sensors, or connected hardware.
- Experience with operational tooling, ticketing systems, or ERP/inventory management.
- Proficiency in French and/or Swiss German.
