The company seeks a Perfumery Lab Supervisor in Kemptthal, CH, to support daily lab operations and fragrance development projects under the guidance of a perfumer.
This position supports the daily operations and research activities of the perfumery laboratory, playing a key role in fragrance development projects. The supervisor reports directly to the perfumer and helps coordinate laboratory activities to ensure smooth workflow and project progress.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily lab activities in alignment with the research perfumer's direction
- Oversee the perfumery lab team (1-2 members) in their routine tasks and professional growth
- Manage inventory of perfumery ingredients and in-house compounds with team assistance
- Prepare fragrance mixtures, calculate ingredient ratios, and analyze data for formulation development
- Incorporate raw fragrance ingredients into various applications for internal evaluation stages
- Organize and conduct perfumery evaluation sessions
- Utilize and maintain company database software and tools
- Handle sample management tasks such as labeling, shipping preparation, transport, inventory, and disposal
- Develop knowledge of perfumery raw materials, including handling, stock management, and olfactory profiles, under perfumer guidance
Requirements
- Completed education or apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory technician
- At least 5 years of hands-on laboratory experience adhering to EHS guidelines
- Practical experience in laboratory procedures and mastery of proportions
- Strong desire to work in an organized manner towards deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills and enjoyment of teamwork
- Good working knowledge of German and English
- Proficient computer skills in MS Office and various web applications
Nice to have
- Supervisor experience of a small team is beneficial
- Passion for detail and high-quality standards in company products
- Sample management experience in the specialty or pharmaceutical industry is a plus
- French is a plus
