This doctoral position is embedded in the EPFL doctoral school program in Management of Technology. The role centers on exploring organizations and their interactions, requiring the candidate to work at the crossroads of operations, economics, and strategy.
Responsibilities
- Design and finish an original doctoral dissertation.
- Perform independent research while collaborating closely with the supervising Chair and, when suitable, with external or industry partners.
- Participate in teaching duties, such as co-supervising student projects.
- Offer limited assistance with the academic and administrative tasks of the Chair.
Requirements
- Hold an excellent Master’s degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
- Demonstrate a robust mathematical foundation, specifically in optimization, probability, and the analysis of mathematical models.
- Show a genuine interest in business, economic, and operational challenges.
- Be proficient in English.
- Exhibit strong motivation for academic research, critical thinking, independence, self-management, and teamwork.
- Secure admission to an EPFL doctoral school program.
