Post Doctoral Scientist (m/w/d)

Roche seeks a Post Doctoral Scientist in Basel to lead industry research on peptide-based therapeutics, focusing on formulation optimization and stability within an interdisciplinary team.

This position centers on an industry research initiative dedicated to peptide-based therapeutics. The primary objective involves understanding and refining lead formulations for peptide candidates, including fixed-dose co-formulations. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary group comprising experts from both academic and industrial backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Design experimental protocols and study plans for the pharmaceutical development of peptide and co-formulation products.
• Conduct in vitro stability assessments for peptide candidates.
• Foster a workplace culture that promotes innovation, continuous learning, and professional growth in pharmaceutical development.
• Communicate research outcomes via internal reports, scientific publications, and by supervising ongoing projects while initiating new research activities.

Requirements

• A Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutical sciences, peptide chemistry, or a closely related discipline.
• Proven practical experience in evaluating peptide delivery systems and applying relevant analytical techniques.
• Strong interpersonal abilities and excellent communication skills.
• A high level of motivation and a genuine passion for applied scientific research and technical innovation.
• Capacity to work effectively within international, cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated scientific creativity, technical proficiency, and the ability to propose experimental designs independently while collaborating with others.

Nice to have

• A strong desire to acquire and develop new scientific methods.
• Prior experience using data analysis or programming tools such as MatLab or R.
