WinGD seeks a Powertrain Expert in Winterthur to design innovative components and support its service business within a dynamic, agile engineering environment.
This position supports WinGD’s service operations by developing advanced powertrain solutions. The role focuses on creating cutting-edge components and adapting systems for existing engines, contributing to the future of sustainable shipping technology.
Responsibilities
- Design and layout innovative powertrain parts, including variable compression ratio systems, supply unit drives, gears, and plain bearings.
- Adapt and design powertrain systems for retrofitting onto existing engine models.
- Provide technical support to the WinGD service division.
- Develop components that balance cost efficiency with high customer satisfaction.
- Conduct failure analysis and create repair solutions for damaged parts.
- Assist licensees with alternative execution requests and non-conformity reports.
Requirements
- A degree in mechanical engineering (M.Sc., B.Sc., Dipl.-Ing., or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical component design and stress assessment.
- Proficiency in CAD systems (NX preferred) and FEM software (ANSYS Workbench preferred).
- Fluent English skills; German is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently, self-driven, and target-oriented.
Nice to have
- Experience with EHD software AVL EXCITE and gear calculation software KISSsoft.
- German language skills.
