Principal Engineer

Tenos SA seeks a Principal Engineer to lead fire engineering projects across the UK and internationally, overseeing quality, finances, and client relations while mentoring junior staff.

This role involves overseeing a diverse portfolio of fire engineering assignments both domestically and overseas. The position focuses on maintaining high standards of quality, managing project budgets, and cultivating strong client partnerships. Additionally, the engineer will guide and develop the skills of less experienced team members.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete lifecycle of individual assignments and coordinate larger, cross-functional initiatives.
• Handle budgeting and financial oversight for all projects.
• Provide mentorship to Engineer Plus and Senior Engineer staff members.
• Evaluate technical documentation created by other team members.
• Facilitate workshops related to fire engineering projects.
• Allocate time efficiently to meet project deadlines.
• Adjust workflows to align with evolving business demands.
• Prioritize personal health and well-being.
• Adhere strictly to the IFE Code of Professional Conduct.
• Follow Tenos quality control protocols and procedures.
• Take ownership of research and development assignments.
• Gather competitor intelligence to understand market dynamics.

Requirements

• Hold professional registration as a Chartered Engineer via the IFE or another recognized engineering body.
• Demonstrate extensive and diverse experience in fire safety.
• Show proven capability in managing important client accounts.
