Product Owner (m/f/d) for Dealership Management Systems

Swiss Automotive Group seeks a Product Owner for Dealership Management Systems in Zürich. The role involves leading the development of a new NoCode-based DMS, managing two legacy systems, and transitioning from external to internal development. The position requires close collaboration with markets, stakeholders, and IT to ensure stable operations and successful product adoption.

The Product Owner is responsible for shaping and advancing the Dealership Management System (DMS) for garage operations, leveraging a NoCode platform. This includes overseeing two legacy DMS systems, managing their maintenance and phase-out, and leading the transition to internal development. The role connects the Executive Sponsor, SAG Group markets, and external partners to deliver a user-centered solution.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the product vision and roadmap for the Dealership Management System and related projects.
  • Prioritize the product backlog by creating epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Work with SAG Group markets (management and sales) to collect and understand business requirements.
  • Manage the pipelines and backlogs for two legacy DMS systems, including maintenance, enhancements, and regulatory needs.
  • Plan and execute the phase-out of legacy systems, including migration strategies, decommissioning, and stakeholder communication.
  • Ensure uninterrupted business operations by coordinating dependencies, risks, and rollout schedules with markets and IT.
  • Develop a charging and pricing model for the software in collaboration with the Executive Sponsor and markets.
  • Coordinate with internal support teams and external development partners to ensure alignment.
  • Lead the shift from external to internal development, including team setup, knowledge transfer, and process implementation.
  • Plan and manage releases, ensuring go-live readiness and consistent delivery across markets.
  • Oversee external vendors during the transition, managing scope, quality, timelines, and knowledge transfer, and support contract and licensing discussions.
  • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and data retention standards in coordination with IT and governance teams.
  • Support change management efforts with markets, including communication, training, and rollout assistance to drive adoption.
  • Track commercial aspects such as pricing, license volumes, and cost drivers with the Executive Sponsor and Finance/Controlling.
  • Engage garage customers to ensure the product meets user needs and remains user-centered.
  • Monitor key performance indicators for product usage and performance.
  • Document and report progress to stakeholders regularly.
