ABB seeks a Project Engineer in Baden, CH, to serve as a technical authority for electrical engineering projects, focusing on medium/low-voltage and standby power systems within the Service business line.
This position operates as a technical authority for electrical engineering projects of low to medium complexity, specifically addressing medium-voltage, low-voltage, and standby power systems within the Service business line. The role reports directly to the Service Sales Support Manager and functions as part of the Division Electrification.
Responsibilities
- Configure products and generate electrical schematics via EPLAN, alongside basic mechanical drawings in AutoCAD.
- Perform selectivity calculations to ensure system safety and compliance.
- Conduct type testing and design verifications for non-standard setups using established checklists and standards.
- Provide technical assistance during testing, commissioning, and project reviews, while supporting customer meetings and change requests.
- Develop effort estimates and feasibility assessments to assist the quotation team.
- Compile system documentation, as-built records, and acceptance documentation.
Requirements
- Hold a completed apprenticeship as an electrician or automation technician, supplemented by further training as a technician HF/FH or an equivalent qualification.
- Possess a minimum of two years of professional experience in project engineering, preferably within energy technology.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in EPLAN Electric P8 for CAD tasks.
- Show a solid technical grasp of power supply system engineering, including MV/LV and emergency power.
- Maintain a strong emphasis on safe working practices and strict adherence to safety guidelines.
- Communicate fluently in both German and English.
Nice to have
- Background or experience in mechanical engineering.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with low-voltage switchgear.
- Ability to speak French.
