Project Engineer (Life Sciences)

Agap2 seeks a Project Engineer in Basel to lead design and manufacturing phases for life sciences clients, requiring GMP expertise and bilingual skills.

This position places consultants on-site to guide clients through project realization, leveraging specialized technical knowledge. The role demands agility and the ability to quickly adapt to varying work environments and client needs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple stages of the project lifecycle, from initial design through to production handover and manufacturing support.
• Execute feasibility assessments and develop Concept, Basic, and Detailed designs for process equipment, including USP and DSP systems.
• Draft and evaluate User Requirement Specifications (URS), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
• Coordinate and assist with Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), P&ID walk-downs, and Commissioning & Qualification (C&Q) processes.
• Oversee external vendors, ensuring deliverables meet standards and schedules are maintained.
• Facilitate internal communication with stakeholders such as Quality Assurance, MSAT, and Engineering teams.
• Prepare tender documentation to support procurement activities.

Requirements

• Hold an engineering degree in biotechnology, bioprocess, chemical engineering, or a closely related field.
• Possess practical experience in facility engineering or manufacturing and C&Q activities.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations.
• Be prepared to operate effectively within an international context.
• Fluency in both spoken and written English and German is mandatory.
• Exhibit strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Must hold Swiss or EU citizenship.
