Stadler Bussnang AG seeks a Mid-level QA Engineer in Wallisellen to ensure software quality for ATS systems through testing, automation, and defect management within Agile teams.
This position focuses on ensuring the reliability and quality of software deliverables within a collaborative environment. The engineer plays a key part in defining testing strategies and supporting the release process to help shape future mobility solutions.
Responsibilities
- Perform functional, smoke, regression, and automated tests for ATS updates, stories, and bug fixes.
- Manage the regression test suite and integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and lab environments.
- Evaluate and prioritize defects, offering insights on severity, impact, and potential workarounds for release planning.
- Assist in release readiness by validating scope, assessing risks, and providing Go/No-Go recommendations after pre- and post-release checks.
- Work closely with Product Owners, developers, and testing peers to clarify requirements, verify fixes, and track quality metrics.
Requirements
- Solid background in QA and software testing, including functional analysis, defect handling, and troubleshooting.
- Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, SDLC, and core testing practices like test design, smoke, and regression testing.
- Hands-on experience with test management tools, defect tracking systems, automation frameworks, and CI/CD platforms such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
- Ability to assess risks, prioritize defects, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and collaborate across functions.
Nice to have
- Experience in the railway sector, particularly with ATS/TMS systems, V-model processes, and safety-critical standards like EN 50128 and SIL.
