Cytosurge AG seeks an R&D Associate Scientist in Cell Biology for its Glattbrugg site. The role focuses on developing cell line engineering workflows and driving process improvements within an interdisciplinary team.
This position centers on the hands-on creation of efficient processes for a specialized cell line engineering workflow. Working alongside an interdisciplinary group, the successful candidate will take on significant responsibilities that directly influence the growth and success of the company's service offerings.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine processes for cell line engineering, including techniques such as CRISPR-Cas9 intra-nuclear injection, singulation, clonal outgrowth, and genotyping.
- Identify risks and technical failures to continuously improve the overall workflow.
- Analyze experimental data to spot trends, anomalies, and new research opportunities.
- Conduct experiments with a strong focus on accuracy and reproducibility.
- Communicate findings and potential applications to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in cell biology or a closely related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of practical experience, with industry background preferred.
- Deep expertise in mammalian cell culture, particularly with challenging cell types like immune cells, iPSCs, and neuronal cells.
- Experience with mammalian cell live imaging and a strong interest in micro-manipulation.
- Solid knowledge of general lab techniques, including DNA extraction, PCR, sequencing, and immunofluorescence.
- Comfortable performing wet-lab work, troubleshooting experiments, and operating lab equipment.
- Proven ability to design, optimize, and monitor experiments while implementing improvements.
- High proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
