Lab Operations Associate

CDR-Life seeks a Lab Operations Associate in Horgen to manage daily lab logistics, inventory, and sample shipments for its immunotherapy research.

This position supports the daily functioning of a dynamic biotech team developing novel T-cell engager technologies for cancer and autoimmune diseases. The role is designed for a proactive individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and can adapt to shifting project priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Procure standard laboratory supplies while negotiating with vendors to optimize costs.
  • Track inventory levels for general chemicals and consumables, maintaining accurate records.
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipping of materials and samples, including preparing necessary documentation and arranging courier services.
  • Receive incoming deliveries and parcels, verifying contents before distributing them to relevant internal teams.
  • Oversee the cleaning and autoclaving of glassware, as well as the proper disposal of laboratory waste.
  • Prepare standard laboratory solutions such as buffers, media, and agar plates.
  • Assist scientists in scheduling and tracking equipment maintenance activities.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or completed apprenticeship in a biological or chemical discipline, combined with prior laboratory work experience.
  • Approximately three years of hands-on experience within a life science lab setting.
  • Professional fluency in English for written and spoken communication, along with conversational German skills.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational abilities and effective communication techniques.
  • Availability to work primarily on-site, as the position requires direct physical involvement in lab tasks.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in laboratory purchasing or procurement processes.
