Regional Manufacturing Excellence Manager (m/w/d)

The company seeks a Senior Regional Manufacturing Excellence Manager in Bern to lead continuous improvement initiatives and operational performance across European manufacturing sites.

This position is part of the European Supply Chain Excellence team, focusing on driving performance enhancements and establishing a culture of ongoing improvement within manufacturing facilities across Europe. The role shapes the operational future by leveraging industrial excellence expertise to enhance capabilities, streamline processes, and develop high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete rollout of the Mondelēz Manufacturing Excellence (IL6S) framework, promoting a mindset of continuous improvement from frontline staff to executive leadership.
• Create and maintain site master plans that align closely with overarching business goals.
• Facilitate hands-on problem-solving sessions to address major equipment failures, process inefficiencies, and breakdowns, while establishing reliable standards to prevent recurrence.
• Mentor and develop plant personnel in essential operational excellence methodologies and tools.
• Assist locations in managing costs effectively, overseeing budgets, and pinpointing high-impact cost reduction opportunities.
• Spearhead change initiatives through on-site workshops and promote the adoption of successful practices across the region.
• Collaborate within an international setting, working closely with global centers of excellence, site leadership, and key decision-makers.

Requirements

• Over 15 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, including production, asset reliability, process engineering, and capability building, ideally within the food sector.
• Proven leadership background in operations, such as serving as a Production Manager or in a comparable role.
• Strong knowledge of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) or comparable pillar-based Operational Excellence frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to apply and coach teams on tools like Centerlining, CIL, and SMED.
• A degree in Engineering is mandatory.
• Fluent proficiency in English is required.
• Readiness to travel throughout Europe.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of German is highly valued.
• Prior experience in dedicated capability building or holding leadership positions is beneficial.
