Roche offers a 9-12 month internship in Basel within the Synthetic Molecules program, focusing on spray drying and amorphous solid dispersions for students in chemical or pharmaceutical fields.
This internship is a component of the Roche Internship program in Synthetic Molecules (RiSM). The position supports the Pharmaceutical & Solid State Development department by investigating how spray drying parameters influence downstream processing and drug release in amorphous solid dispersions. Please note that this role is designed as a standalone internship and is not intended for use as a Bachelor, Master, or Diploma thesis.
Responsibilities
- Conducting literature reviews relevant to the project scope
- Receiving training on standard operating procedures and analytical or manufacturing equipment
- Planning, performing, and assessing laboratory experiments
- Producing and characterizing spray-dried powders
- Regularly discussing project milestones with supervisors to plan subsequent steps
- Drafting a final report summarizing the internship findings
- Completing the specific RiSM assignment, which involves creating a presentation on formulation considerations
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in university or graduated within the last 12 months before the start date
- Ability to work reliably and accurately in a non-GMP setting
- Strong teamwork skills and a decisive personality
- Self-motivated approach with a focus on problem-solving
- Proficient skills in MS-Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Fluency in English
Nice to have
- Knowledge of the German language
