Scientific Data Architect - Basel, Switzerland

TetraScience seeks a Senior Scientific Data Architect in Basel to design AI-driven data models and Python-based solutions for life sciences clients.

TetraScience operates as the leading provider of scientific data and AI infrastructure, developing Tetra OS to power intelligent workflows in the life sciences sector. This position plays a vital role in a collaborative effort to scale scientific artificial intelligence by working closely with clients on-site in the Basel area.

Responsibilities

• Create adaptable and reusable data structures to store and manage scientific information effectively.
• Convert scientific processes into reliable solutions using the Tetra Data Platform.
• Manage the full lifecycle of solution development, including data modeling, Python parser creation, and API-based lab software connections.
• Build data visualization tools and applications using Python, Streamlit, holoviews, and Plotly.
• Work alongside scientific business analysts, client researchers, and AI engineers to create and launch models.
• Analyze proprietary instrument data files programmatically.
• Partner with end-users and technical teams to quickly advance solution development and encourage adoption.
• Keep stakeholders informed on progress and present demos to customers.
• Partner with product teams to shape the roadmap based on client challenges.
• Quickly master new technologies to address and resolve use cases.

Requirements

• PhD with 4+ years or Master's with 8+ years in life sciences, focusing on drug discovery, preclinical development, CMC, or quality testing.
• Demonstrated success in defining, designing, prototyping, and implementing AI/ML use cases in cloud environments.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams, including product managers, software engineers, and scientific experts.
• Conducted extensive exploratory data analysis and workflow optimization to support scientific goals.
• Communicated complex ideas to diverse groups, from scientists to executives, using strong storytelling skills.
• Provided consulting guidance to scientists to improve research, development, and quality testing results.
