Senior AI Engineer

RepRisk AG · Zürich

RepRisk AG is seeking a Senior AI Engineer in Zürich for a hybrid role. The position focuses on building agentic AI systems for responsible business conduct within a regulated environment.

This position sits within RepRisk’s Agentic delivery team and centers on developing cutting-edge agentic AI solutions. The engineer will work on impactful projects that bridge autonomous AI technologies with responsible business conduct, operating in a highly regulated industry context.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop production-grade single and multi-agent systems featuring planning, memory, and tool-use capabilities that adhere to strict compliance and auditability standards.
  • Create and manage MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers utilizing FastMCP and platforms like Databricks or Snowflake, ensuring secure schemas and role-based access controls.
  • Engineer agentic workflows using LangChain and LangGraph, implementing robust prompt engineering, tool integration, and multi-agent coordination strategies.
  • Establish testing, evaluation, monitoring, and observability practices for production agent systems, leveraging tools like LangSmith or LangFuse for structured tracing and offline/online assessments.
  • Develop, integrate, and maintain LLM-powered microservices and APIs (Python, FastAPI, gRPC, Postgres) within broader AWS-deployed production applications.
  • Research, test, and integrate state-of-the-art LLM and autonomous agent advancements, including reflection, planning, multi-agent coordination, and AWS Bedrock/AgentCore.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Tech Leads, and domain experts to align technical outputs with user needs and business objectives, demonstrating initiative and supporting discovery efforts.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience, including 2-3 years in production AI agent development, preferably within regulated sectors like finance, legal, or healthcare.
  • Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related STEM discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Extensive hands-on experience developing agents with LangChain and LangGraph (or similar frameworks), covering planning, memory, tool-use, and multi-agent patterns.
  • Proven track record of building and operating MCP servers using FastMCP or platforms like Databricks/Snowflake, with secure schemas, authentication, and role-based permissions.
  • Expert-level Python proficiency with strong backend engineering fundamentals (FastAPI, Postgres/SQLAlchemy, gRPC, async IO, Databricks, testing).
  • Proficiency in observability platforms and evaluation frameworks for LLM applications (LangSmith, LangFuse), including performance profiling and optimization techniques.
  • Solid grasp of software design principles (SOLID, DRY, KISS), Clean Code, and common architecture patterns, with the ability to write maintainable production code.
  • Strong product ownership mindset, taking end-to-end responsibility for assigned work, supporting discovery with the Tech Lead and PM, proposing improvements, and demonstrating reliability.
  • Commitment to staying current with AI engineering best practices and sharing knowledge across the team.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with AWS Bedrock and Bedrock AgentCore for managed agent deployments and tool orchestration.
  • Experience running containerized workloads on Kubernetes in production.
  • Background in classical ML/LLM engineering on large datasets, including fine-tuning, retrieval, and summarization pipelines over ESG-scale corpora.
  • Experience building software solutions using coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) to accelerate delivery.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and providing constructive feedback.
