Senior AI-native Software Engineer

Jurata AG seeks a Senior AI-native Software Engineer in Zürich to build scalable, AI-powered business solutions using Next.js and Python.

Jurata AG is a Swiss legal tech startup aiming to lead the market in AI-driven professional services. This role allows the engineer to take full ownership of building a scalable, AI-powered business, helping SMEs focus on their core activities by automating repetitive administrative, accounting, and legal tasks.

Responsibilities

• Build and sustain applications using Next.js.
• Transition legacy prototypes and no-code experiments into robust, production-grade software.
• Manage backend services developed with Nest.js and Python.
• Deliver complete end-to-end features across the entire product suite.
• Take full responsibility for problem-solving throughout the entire lifecycle, from initial concept and specification to development, testing, release, and ongoing monitoring.
• Participate actively in a fast-paced team environment, engaging in code reviews and architectural design discussions.

Requirements

• At least four years of professional experience in the TypeScript ecosystem, with strong practical skills in Next.js.
• Demonstrated ability to make sound architectural decisions, balancing best practices with necessary trade-offs.
• Commitment to high-quality standards, ensuring software is maintainable and thoroughly tested.
• Proficiency in using agentic editors and leveraging LLMs, while critically evaluating and refining their output.
• Strong capability in designing RESTful APIs and integrating external third-party services.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and coordinate effectively.
• Must reside in the Zürich area or be willing to relocate; relocation assistance is available only for EU/EFTA nationals.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD), Domain-Driven Design (DDD), MongoDB, Vercel, or AWS.
