Senior Azure Architect (f/m/d)

a1 - Industrieböden AG seeks a Senior Azure Architect to design and implement Microsoft Sentinel security solutions for enterprise clients in a hybrid role.

This position combines high-level architectural design with hands-on implementation, serving as a key customer-facing expert. The primary objective is to build, optimize, and manage Microsoft Sentinel-based security frameworks for large-scale enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical discovery sessions and workshops in German to assess business needs, security posture, and current Azure or on-premises infrastructure.
• Architect comprehensive Microsoft Sentinel solutions, covering data connectors, Log Analytics workspaces, analytics rules, playbooks, workbooks, and role models.
• Build and sustain Azure Logic Apps to automate security responses, enrich data, and integrate with external third-party systems.
• Configure security controls such as Microsoft Entra ID RBAC, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), managed identities, app registrations, service principals, and Conditional Access policies.
• Provide guidance on Azure licensing, cost models, Sentinel pricing, data ingestion volumes, Defender plans, Log Analytics retention, and overall cost optimization.
• Develop Azure monitoring and logging strategies, including workspace design, ingestion plans, table structures, diagnostic settings, and performance tuning.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines using GitHub for Sentinel content and infrastructure, ensuring version control, automated deployment, quality gates, and testing.
• Produce and update technical documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.

Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience in Azure architecture, preferably with a focus on security and monitoring.
• Extensive background working with Microsoft Sentinel or Azure Data Lake.
• Strong development skills in automation, scripting, and system integration.
• Experience in customer-facing roles, including workshops, consulting, and solution design.
• Ability to translate business requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions.
• Fluent German (C1/C2) for leading workshops, presenting architectures, and writing documentation for German-speaking customers.
• Good English (B2+) for collaborating with international teams, reading and producing technical documentation, and participating in global projects.
