Revolution Medicines seeks a Senior Director to lead Corporate Affairs, Communication, and Policy Advocacy for Midsized Markets in Basel, focusing on oncology strategies and stakeholder engagement.
This position serves as the primary leader for Corporate Affairs within the Midsized Markets region, reporting to the VP of Corporate Affairs in Europe. The role is critical for shaping the company’s narrative, managing media relations, and navigating the complex policy landscape for a late-stage clinical oncology company dedicated to developing targeted therapies for RAS-addicted cancers.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the regional spokesperson and coordinate with internal subject matter experts.
- Develop and execute proactive media strategies surrounding clinical trial outcomes, regulatory updates, and major oncology conferences.
- Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with leading trade and regional media outlets.
- Track media sentiment and emerging narratives to proactively address potential issues.
- Ensure alignment of local messaging with global corporate priorities across all communication channels.
- Own the country-level corporate reputation strategy, ensuring consistency with the broader global narrative.
- Monitor reputation metrics and stakeholder sentiment to identify risks and opportunities early.
- Lead local crisis and issues management efforts to safeguard and enhance the company’s reputation.
- Enhance executive visibility and thought leadership within local healthcare, business, and policy circles.
- Engage with government bodies and stakeholder institutions on public affairs matters.
- Map and analyze the evolving policy environment, including regulatory and governmental shifts.
- Collaborate with General Managers, HR, and corporate functions to foster a culture of transparency and pride.
- Design engagement strategies that translate corporate strategy into clear, actionable priorities.
- Align internal communications with external priorities and communicate policy and access milestones.
- Lead the oncology communications strategy, covering disease awareness, product launches, and lifecycle management.
- Create disease-awareness content for patients and caregivers in partnership with Medical Affairs.
- Ensure all communications comply with European promotional codes (EFPIA) and local regulations.
- Build team proficiency in using AI-enabled tools for audience insights, drafting, and measurement.
- Develop best-practice toolkits and training to strengthen local advocacy and policy capabilities.
- Foster cross-country learning and alignment on policy initiatives and emerging tools.
- Partner with Regional and Global teams to ensure Midsized Markets communications align with the global narrative.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Communications, Political Science, Public Health, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in Communications and Public Affairs within the oncology sector.
- Strong leadership, influence, and collaborative team mindset.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver impactful Communications and Public Affairs campaigns.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including storytelling and policy translation.
- Skilled in managing complex stakeholder environments and partnerships.
- Strong digital communications skills with experience running campaigns across web, social, and other digital channels.
- Hands-on fluency with generative AI tools for communications workflows with an understanding of responsible use.
- Deep understanding of the European healthcare policy and oncology landscape.
- Proven track record of engaging with patient organizations, industry associations, and policymakers.
- Experience launching new oncology medicines and shaping policy to enable faster patient access.
- Familiarity with reimbursement, HTA processes, and access barriers in oncology.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.

- Fluency in English, German, French, and/or Dutch is considered advantageous.
- Proficiency with MS Office and common business applications.
