Roche seeks a Senior Executive Communicator in Basel to craft global communications for top leadership, including Board members and the Corporate Executive Committee.
This position sits within the Executive Communications team under Group Communications and reports directly to the Head of Executive Communications. The incumbent acts as a trusted advisor and specialist for key Roche leaders, managing internal and external messaging on a worldwide scale. The role provides dedicated support to the Chairman of the Board, Board members, and the Corporate Executive Committee.
Responsibilities
- Develop executive communication strategies and define the speaking agenda for Roche leaders.
- Write speeches, talking points, briefings, video scripts, letters, and internal updates for senior executives.
- Conduct speech rehearsals and provide communications training, including Q&A preparation and performance feedback.
- Assist the Global Head of External Engagement in preparing talking points for media interviews.
- Participate in the preparation of quarterly business results reporting.
- Represent External Engagement on cross-functional teams by offering communications expertise.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing across business units to break down silos and leverage key learnings.
Requirements
- Background in corporate or public affairs, ideally within biotech, pharmaceuticals, or diagnostics.
- Superior writing, copyediting, and proofreading capabilities.
- Strong interpersonal abilities with the capacity to influence senior leadership and engage across all organizational levels.
- Proven organizational and multitasking skills, with experience managing multiple priorities and projects under pressure.
- Experience in cross-functional project management, including oversight of external agencies and budgets.
- Strong executive presence and significant experience working closely with C-suite executives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- At least eight years of relevant professional experience.
- Fluency in both German and English, written and spoken, is mandatory.

- Extensive background in managing issues and crisis communications.
- Deep understanding of executive communications, employee engagement, channel management, and event coordination.
- Digital and social media expertise, particularly in leading thought leadership initiatives on LinkedIn.
