Head of Functional Communications

Onrunning seeks a Senior Head of Functional Communications in Zürich to lead internal messaging, change management, and executive communications while fostering a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture.

This position partners with regional and functional leaders to strengthen team culture and ensure clear information flow across the organization. The role drives communication strategies from conception to execution, working closely with multiple teams to optimize how information is shared. It requires deep integration into Onrunning's distinctive, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

• Crafting global messages on strategic and cultural topics.
• Co-leading the company's change and crisis management approach.
• Creating a tailored communication strategy for store staff, regional teams, and leadership.
• Managing executive communications for key leaders across various business functions.

Requirements

• Over a decade of experience in creative, multi-disciplinary roles within communications, change management, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
• Exceptional writing abilities to identify and tell stories clearly and compellingly.
• Strategic thinking and thought leadership to translate vision into words and gain stakeholder buy-in.
• Experience working with senior leaders and developing executive personas.
• Proven team leadership skills to chart growth paths and strategic vision for team members.
• A collaborative mindset to lead large, cross-functional projects and navigate ambiguity.
• Self-motivated to proactively pitch ideas and handle detailed work.
• Fluency in English.

Nice to have

• Creativity and expertise in at least one relevant audiovisual format (video, audio, graphic design, animation).
• Experience using Slack and G-Suite apps.
• Additional languages.
