Senior Director, Software Engineering

SonicWALL AG seeks a Senior Director of Software Engineering to lead the Networking Software team, driving the development of cybersecurity solutions and mentoring engineering leaders.

In this role, the successful candidate will guide the Networking Software team in creating and delivering robust networking solutions designed to safeguard customers against cyber threats. The position demands a professional with extensive expertise in networking software development alongside proven leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the architectural planning, design, and implementation of essential networking software modules.
• Define and advance the technical strategy and roadmap for the Networking Software group.
• Provide mentorship and management to engineering managers and senior engineers, promoting a workplace focused on innovation and high standards.
• Work closely with Product Management, Quality Assurance, and Hardware Engineering teams to guarantee smooth integration and timely delivery.
• Maintain rigorous standards for code quality, system performance, and security throughout all networking software projects.
• Monitor industry developments and emerging technologies within the networking and cybersecurity sectors.

Requirements

• Possess over a decade of software engineering experience, specifically emphasizing networking protocols and software.
• Demonstrate a history of successfully directing large-scale software development initiatives.
• Hold comprehensive knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network security technologies.
• Exhibit strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Have practical experience applying Agile development methodologies.
• Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
