Responsibilities
- Develop manufacturing-friendly designs that prioritize cost-effectiveness and durability.
- Translate innovative concepts into workable engineering specifications.
- Review and critique designs and technical drawings created by other team members.
- Serve as a mentor and subject matter expert for robust design methodologies.
- Collaborate across multiple departments to support ongoing product lines.
- Analyze and resolve complex multi-physical challenges within existing products.
- Conduct hands-on experimental assembly and testing procedures.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Microtechnics, Mechatronics, or a closely related field.
- Proficiency in tolerance management, robust design principles, design-to-cost strategies, and finite element analysis using tools like Solidworks, Comsol, or Ansys.
- Experience developing complex systems that integrate electrical, mechanical, and magnetic technologies.
- Ability to implement robust design practices into industrial manufacturing.
- Proven track record of inventing advanced concepts and resolving critical technical issues.
- Strong understanding of machining capabilities and materials, including plastics and thermosets.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of French and/or German is preferred.
- Expertise in Geometrical Product Specifications (ISO GD&T), tolerance management within SolidWorks, functional analysis, and FMEA.
- Solid foundation in electrical engineering fundamentals and power electronics.
