Senior Mechanical Engineer

The company seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Geneva to lead mechanical design and validation for quantum products, from prototyping to industrial release.

This position is part of the R&D team in Geneva, focusing on the design, validation, and continuous improvement of mechanical enclosures and subsystems for quantum products. The engineer will manage mechanical solutions from early prototyping through to industrialized product release.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete mechanical design process, including CAD documentation, assembly bring-up, and validation testing, from prototype to industrialized product.
• Ensure thermal management, dimensional stability, and manufacturability through design, simulation, and optimization.
• Conduct thermal simulations to predict temperatures, gradients, and heat flows, correlating models with lab measurements and iterating designs.
• Collaborate with optical, electronic, and system engineers to optimize interfaces and block specifications.
• Work with external suppliers to prototype and manufacture parts efficiently.
• Improve design practices and support multiple projects as a mechanical subject-matter expert.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Microtechnology, or equivalent.
• At least five years of relevant experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Hands-on experience designing with sheet metal and/or machined parts.
• Strong ability to develop thermal dissipation solutions for compact systems.
• Fluency in English.
• Solid mechanical engineering foundation with proven experience delivering compact, industrial-grade designs.
• Structured, collaborative engineer with strong communication skills and a hands-on approach to validation.
• Knowledge of applicable norms and compliance requirements, including EMC and electrical/product safety aspects.
