The company seeks a Senior Electronic Engineer in Geneva to lead the design and verification of high-performance analog, mixed-signal, and RF subsystems for quantum-safe communication hardware.
Based in the R&D department in Geneva, this position focuses on technical ownership of high-performance electronic subsystems. The role is responsible for driving and reading out ultra-sensitive, fast opto-electronic modules within a global leader in quantum-safe communications and quantum detection systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop complex electronic hardware from early prototypes to industrialised modules.
- Design high-performance, low-noise mixed-signal PCBs.
- Define and review block specifications with system, optical, and firmware engineers.
- Lead technical trade-offs around noise, bandwidth, timing, and electromagnetic compatibility.
- Plan and execute bring-up and verification in the lab.
- Coordinate and technically guide subcontractors and suppliers.
- Help evolve the team’s design process, documentation, and review practices.
- Own the design and verification of analog, mixed-signal, and RF/high-speed electronic subsystems.
- Act as the analog/RF reference in R&D.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic or Opto-electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
- At least seven years of relevant experience designing complex, high-performance hardware modules.
- Strong expertise in analog and mixed-signal design (low-noise, precision, and high-speed).
- RF fundamentals (impedance matching, transmission lines, filtering).
- Signal-integrity and power-integrity best practices.
- Creating and reviewing schematics and PCB layouts (Altium Designer).
- Using simulation and modelling tools (e.g., LTspice).
- Working hands-on with laboratory instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum/network analyzers, signal generators).
- Fluency in English is required.
Nice to have
- French is an advantage.
- Experience driving hardware for sensitive opto-electronic systems where noise, timing, jitter and bandwidth are critical.
- Comfortable balancing technical performance with manufacturability and testability.
- Naturally take ownership, mentor others through design and review.
- Help establish a rigorous design flow to support fast integration into products.
What the company offers
- A role at one of the fastest growing and most exciting Quantum companies in the world.
- A competitive compensation scheme, benefits package and equity plan.
- Flexible work models that let you balance your life, your family, and your career.
