Destinusgroup in Zürich seeks a Senior Analog Electronics Engineer to design ultra-low-noise electronics for a proprietary Inertial Measurement Unit, supporting next-generation aerospace navigation systems. The role requires expertise in precision analog design, PCB architecture, and signal integrity for defense-grade UAV applications.

This role focuses on developing analog electronics that convert minute physical signals into accurate navigation data, forming a core part of Destinusgroup’s Inertial Measurement Unit. The work directly impacts the performance and reliability of advanced unmanned aerial vehicles used in defense operations, where precision and signal integrity are critical.

Responsibilities

  • Design and simulate ultra-low-noise analog front-end circuits, including charge-sensitive and transimpedance amplifiers for capacitive sensing applications
  • Develop PCB architectures with emphasis on shielding, isolation, impedance control, and minimizing parasitic capacitance to ensure high signal integrity
  • Implement solutions to prevent capacitive crosstalk between high-voltage circuits and sensitive sensing channels using active guard rings and advanced grounding
  • Select, integrate, and validate high-resolution ADCs and high-speed DACs for precision measurement systems
  • Design clock generation and distribution systems with minimal drift, jitter, and phase noise
  • Collaborate with mechanical, sensor, and FPGA engineers to optimize system integration and overall performance
  • Build, test, debug, and characterize prototype hardware using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators
  • Analyze system performance, identify noise sources, and refine circuit designs to meet navigation-grade standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, with a focus on precision instrumentation and low-noise electronics
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing ultra-low-noise and low-signal-level analog circuits
  • Strong knowledge of thermal EMF management, leakage currents, grounding, shielding, and precision measurement systems
  • Expertise in multi-layer PCB design, including impedance control, shielding, and parasitic effect reduction
  • Deep understanding of precision op-amps, instrumentation amplifiers, low-noise regulators, and high-performance data converters
  • Experience with SPICE-based simulation and analog circuit modeling
  • Proven hands-on skills in laboratory debugging and validation

Nice to have

  • Experience in designing electronics for MEMS sensors, inertial sensors, atomic clocks, or scientific instrumentation
  • Background in aerospace, defense, or electronics for harsh environments
  • Familiarity with digital interfaces such as SPI and parallel buses
  • Knowledge of FPGA and microcontroller integration in mixed-signal systems
