Destinusgroup in Zürich seeks a Senior RF Design Engineer - IC to design the RF backbone of next-generation digital radar systems, focusing on performance, efficiency, and precision. The role involves translating system requirements into high-performance hardware solutions for aerospace defense applications.
This role is part of a multidisciplinary team developing advanced radar technologies for unmanned aerial vehicles. The engineer will design the RF backbone of digital radar systems, translating system requirements into hardware solutions optimized for strict size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C) targets. Responsibilities may expand into circuit and system modeling, as well as system architecture definition, supporting cutting-edge defense innovations.
Responsibilities
- Design RF and analog circuits for receivers and transmitters using circuit and electromagnetic (EM) simulation tools
- Evaluate concepts for integrated circuit (IC) implementation of power amplifiers, mixers, and beamformers
- Assist in defining system-level requirements
- Possibility to contribute to system simulation and modeling activities
Requirements
- Solid knowledge of RF building blocks in receivers and transmitters, including LNAs, PAs, mixers, antennas, filters, and transmission lines
- Experience with RF and analog circuit simulation
- Ability to design and simulate digital and clock signal paths
- In-depth understanding of RF PCB design, microstrip structures, matching networks, and antennas
- Familiarity with common receiver and transmitter architectures
- Understanding of key RX and TX performance metrics
- Hands-on experience with 3D electromagnetic (EM) simulation
- Proficiency with MWO or ADS simulation tools
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication abilities
Nice to have
- Prior experience in integrated circuit (IC) design
