Senior Mechanical R&D Engineer

Secheron S Dot A seeks a Senior Mechanical R&D Engineer in Geneva to design safety-critical electro-mechanical products. The role focuses on optimizing product lifecycles and collaborating with production teams.

This position sits within the Electrical Safety Solutions unit, where the company develops components that safeguard critical infrastructure. Based in Geneva, the role involves driving technical decisions and applying modern engineering principles to create standardized and customized safety products.

Responsibilities

• Create standardized safety-critical electro-mechanical devices, including modifications to satisfy client needs.
• Develop optimized solutions that leverage current technologies throughout the entire product lifecycle.
• Participate in technical decisions concerning specifications and characteristics of both standard and customized products.
• Implement Design-to-Cost and Design-for-Manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency.
• Utilize advanced engineering software to streamline product development processes.
• Assist in validation activities, including prototype assembly, testing, and compliance verification.
• Work with Methods and Production teams to enhance product quality and industrial performance.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience in safety-critical electro-mechanical product design or a comparable field.
• Demonstrated background in product development and its full lifecycle.
• Professional proficiency in English, as all written communication is conducted in English.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional and international environment.
