Senior Engineer - Design & Development

Siemens seeks a Senior Engineer for Design & Development in Switzerland. The position focuses on software solution design, implementation, and testing within an agile, on-site environment.

This position is responsible for analyzing requirements and designing software solutions in accordance with native syngo mainline guidelines. The engineer must independently troubleshoot complex issues and deliver functional prototypes while ensuring high-quality code standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop features and resolve bugs while strictly following coding and quality standards.
• Create and execute unit and integration tests to verify that solutions meet customer needs without affecting existing systems.
• Conduct code reviews, contribute to documentation such as requirement and design specifications, and ensure compliance with project quality processes.
• Manage the integration and submission of solutions into the software configuration management system within agreed deadlines.
• Participate actively in product risk analysis activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Applications, or related technical fields.
• Between 4 and 7 years of professional experience in software design and development.
• Deep expertise in C#, including design principles, SOLID guidelines, object-oriented programming concepts, and practical experience with WPF.
• Proficiency in writing automated tests.
• Solid understanding of inter-process communication, multi-threading, data structures, unit-testing frameworks, and Agile methodologies.
• Capability to operate effectively as an individual contributor.
• Familiarity with standard software development processes and experience collaborating with global, multi-site teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Nice to have

• Experience with static code analysis and unit testing tools.
• Familiarity with version control systems like GIT and TFS, as well as tools such as FxCop and NUnit.
