Senior R&D Test Engineer – SiC/Si 80–100% (f/m/d)

The company seeks a Senior R&D Test Engineer in Lenzburg to evaluate and qualify next-generation SiC and Si semiconductor devices, ensuring quality and reliability for power module applications.

This position sits at the intersection of research and development, product engineering, and testing. The role focuses on advancing semiconductor technologies from the development phase into industrial production, supporting critical applications in renewable energy, eMobility, and industrial sectors.

Responsibilities

• Support the qualification and development of advanced Silicon and Silicon Carbide semiconductor devices intended for power modules.
• Partner with cross-functional teams in design, process development, and product engineering to assess the performance and durability of emerging technologies.
• Organize, conduct, and oversee electrical and reliability testing utilizing sophisticated equipment and established procedures.
• Examine test results to detect patterns and underlying issues, offering technical guidance to inform product development choices.
• Compile and share test documentation, highlighting essential outcomes and potential risks for project stakeholders.
• Lead efforts to enhance laboratory efficiency, quality, and testing capabilities through continuous improvement.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety, environmental, cleanliness, and laboratory operational standards during all testing activities.

Requirements

• Hold a Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Semiconductor Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Possess several years of professional experience in the semiconductor, power electronics, or a related sector, with a preference for backgrounds in electrical testing, validation, or reliability engineering.
• Demonstrate a robust understanding of semiconductor devices, with specific focus on Silicon Carbide (SiC) and/or Silicon (Si) technologies.
• Have practical experience operating test systems, measurement equipment, and applying data analysis methodologies.
• Communicate fluently in English.

Nice to have

• Programming or automation expertise, particularly in Python, LabVIEW, or comparable platforms, is highly valued.
• Background in statistical data analysis and engineering software tools; familiarity with CAD is beneficial.
• Knowledge of the German language is considered an advantage.
