Swiss TPH seeks a Senior Impact Evaluation Specialist to lead impact assessment portfolios and drive rigorous evaluation methodologies at its Allschwil headquarters.
This position sits within the Swiss Centre for International Health (SCIH), a hub for consultancy, training, and applied research in global health. The specialist will serve as the technical lead for impact assessments, guiding the design of rigorous evaluations and ensuring that findings translate into strategic recommendations and actionable evidence for international development projects.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical lead for the impact assessment portfolio.
- Design rigorous impact evaluations, co-develop evaluation tools, and define key research questions.
- Oversee the implementation of evaluation projects and track the adoption of recommendations.
- Analyze data to produce robust findings, present results, and provide strategic advice.
- Lead competitive bidding efforts, including identifying opportunities and collaborating on proposals.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, health economics, social sciences, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role conducting large-scale evaluations and impact assessments.
- Proven track record in applying evaluation methodologies focused on Value for Money within global health or international development contexts.
- Strong ability to develop evaluation frameworks and utilize Theory of Change (TOC) approaches.
- Deep understanding of best practices in monitoring, evaluation, and large project portfolio management.
- Prior experience working on projects funded by bilateral or international development assistance agencies.
- Excellent proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Competence in statistical software such as R, STATA, or SPSS.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently to low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
Nice to have
- A PhD degree is considered an advantage.
- Additional language skills in French, Spanish, or Portuguese are beneficial.
