System Design Project Manager (IRT exp essential)

IQVIA AG seeks a Senior System Design Project Manager in Basel to lead IRT system projects for clinical trials, ensuring protocol compliance and client satisfaction.

The company is looking for a Senior System Design Project Manager to support clinical trials by designing and delivering Investigational Randomization Technology (IRT) systems. This role ensures patients receive the correct study medication according to protocol. The position involves working directly with sponsors to analyze study requirements, translate them into system specifications, and oversee implementation. It is a highly consultative, client-facing role requiring strong IRT expertise and the ability to manage complex projects in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze study protocols and define IRT system needs with clients.
• Consult with sponsors on the best approach to IRT system setup and design.
• Author user requirement documents and lead review cycles with internal and external teams.
• Develop and manage project timelines to ensure on-time delivery.
• Prepare project reports including status updates, tracking metrics, and financial summaries.
• Oversee financial elements such as deliverable tracking and invoice approval.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and milestone achievement.
• Lead issue resolution and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to proposals and RFPs as needed.
• Mentor junior PMs and support team development.
• Present project updates at internal and external meetings.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, policies, and quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Substantial years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Mandatory experience in IRT system design.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to meet quality and timeline expectations.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Proficiency with MS Office and general software tools.

• SQL experience desirable.
