Project Manager IVD Business (m/f/d)

Bühlmann (Switzerland) seeks a Senior Project Manager for its IVD business in Schönenbuch. The role leads strategic, cross-functional projects with high autonomy in a collaborative, international environment.

This position is responsible for directing strategic, cross-functional initiatives that significantly impact the business within an innovative and growing in vitro diagnostics sector. The role provides substantial autonomy and accountability, allowing the incumbent to define project execution frameworks, governance structures, and operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete lifecycle of strategic projects, from initial concept through final implementation, ensuring all activities align with broader business goals.
• Convert strategic objectives into detailed project plans that specify milestones, deliverables, schedules, governance models, and individual responsibilities.
• Foster collaboration among diverse teams such as R&D, Operations, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, and Finance, as well as external partners, to facilitate timely decisions and execution.
• Track project performance against defined scope, budget, timelines, and key performance indicators to guarantee the successful delivery of outcomes.
• Proactively identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks, dependencies, resource limitations, and execution bottlenecks.
• Support effective governance by preparing decision-ready analyses, chairing project meetings, tracking action items, and escalating critical issues when necessary.
• Report project status, risks, and recommendations to sponsors, leadership, and steering committees to maintain transparency and stakeholder alignment.
• Champion the continuous improvement of project management standards, methodologies, and execution excellence throughout the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related field.
• At least five years of project management experience within the IVD, Medical Device, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, or Life Sciences industries.
• Demonstrated success in leading complex, cross-functional projects from start to finish in international, matrixed organizations.
• Experience working closely with Product Development, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Manufacturing, Commercial, and other cross-functional departments.
• Fluent proficiency in both English and German, written and spoken.

Nice to have

• Additional business education is considered an advantage.
• Holding a PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent project management certification is preferred.
