The company seeks a Senior Lead Engineer to manage the full lifecycle of imaging algorithms and drive the strategy for its Global Imaging Platform, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and advancing digital pathology solutions.
This position serves as the central leader for the imaging algorithm ecosystem, bridging the gap between governance, development, and platform operations. The role is responsible for the end-to-end strategy and execution of the Global Imaging Platform (GIP), ensuring that multi-modal data and insights are effectively utilized for clinical development and research while maintaining strict adherence to quality and regulatory frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Define and manage the product roadmap and strategy for multi-modal imaging data and insights within the Global Imaging Platform.
- Serve as the primary product owner for imaging modality analysis applications, coordinating across various global research and diagnostics divisions.
- Lead the complete algorithm lifecycle from initial development through validation to regulatory-ready deployment.
- Translate complex business and scientific requirements into scalable, compliant technical solutions in partnership with technical leads.
- Oversee the lifecycle of imaging data analysis applications, including visualization and analytics, ensuring timely delivery of enhancements and AI/ML tool integration.
- Drive the vision and execution of the imaging algorithm ecosystem, acting as the single point of accountability across multiple internal departments.
- Identify and implement improvements to increase scalability, automation, and efficiency in analysis workflows.
- Establish a common format for deployment to reduce conversion costs and improve inference speed across different hardware and endpoints.
- Monitor industry trends in digital pathology, AI/ML, and digital health to guide ongoing product innovation.
- Manage dependencies, risks, and milestones for digital pathology deliverables, communicating progress through KPIs and performance reports.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the global imaging community.
- Promote AI-driven automation to accelerate algorithm validation, documentation, and reduce manual effort.
Requirements
- Prior experience with medical imaging technology, particularly across multiple modalities.
- Demonstrated ability to define tasks, coach engineers, and drive medium to large-scale product initiatives.
- Proven track record of contributing to technical strategy for major components and participating in global knowledge-sharing events.
- Expertise in multiple programming paradigms and languages, with the ability to influence technical choices.
- Strong capability in leading the design of multi-service solutions and evaluating system patterns.
- Proficiency in building and supporting AI/ML-based analysis applications, including interoperability, performance optimization, and cross-platform standardization.
- Experience implementing reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) modules for services and teams.
- Ability to design observability for interconnected services, improve monitoring, and solve complex cross-service performance issues.
- Strong background in developing advanced testing strategies, championing automation, implementing security best practices, and conducting threat modeling.
- Exceptional leadership and mentorship skills, specifically in mentoring senior engineers and promoting code quality through critical design reviews.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to build partnerships across stakeholder ecosystems.
- Practical experience working with regulatory and quality teams to align development processes with quality management systems and compliance requirements.
