Senior Legal Counsel (Legal Services)

Partners Group seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal support to investment professionals across the Americas, ensuring regulatory compliance and business-aligned advice throughout the investment lifecycle.

This position places the legal professional at the core of the firm’s operations, collaborating closely with senior management, investment teams, and external advisors. The role is designed to deliver high-quality legal guidance across all asset classes, supporting critical decision-making during the investment process while maintaining strict adherence to internal standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert legal counsel to investment teams operating in the Americas, covering all asset classes managed by the firm.
• Evaluate and discuss recommendations provided by external legal advisors to ensure alignment with the firm’s interests.
• Guarantee that all activities comply with Partners Group’s internal policies, standards, and regulatory obligations.
• Conduct internal legal assessments, including conflict of interest checks and legal opinions, to mitigate risk.
• Present and defend legal positions during investment committee meetings.
• Assist cross-functional teams, such as tax, structuring, compliance, and the general counsel’s office, with ad-hoc legal inquiries.
• Identify opportunities to refine and improve existing legal processes and contribute to broader departmental initiatives.
