This position focuses on pioneering research to create next-generation computing architectures. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify performance bottlenecks and develop hardware/software solutions for modern workloads, aiming to push the boundaries of future computing systems through fundamental innovation.
Responsibilities
- Investigate next-generation large-scale systems, specifically analyzing how applications interact with memory architectures and interconnects.
- Partner with hardware and software product groups to pinpoint critical workloads and system bottlenecks, suggesting optimizations to enhance efficiency and resource utilization.
- Explore hardware and software co-design strategies to accelerate diverse workloads, including AI, cloud services, databases, and recommender engines.
- Build and test proof-of-concept prototypes on production-scale environments to validate research findings.
- Draft and publish academic papers and technical whitepapers detailing research outcomes.
Requirements
- PhD degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related electrical engineering discipline.
- Extensive understanding of enterprise applications like databases, serverless platforms, and recommender systems operating on contemporary hardware.
- Solid grasp of memory and networking technologies, including coherence protocols, NUMA, CXL, RDMA, virtual memory, and page-table management.
- Proven capability to develop and deploy applications on physical hardware systems.
- Proficiency in performance analysis methodologies and relevant toolchains.
- Ability to review academic literature and adapt state-of-the-art techniques into practical implementations.
- Track record of publications in leading conferences or journals within the relevant research domains.
