Swiss Re seeks a Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager in Zürich to lead supervisory processes, manage FINMA relations, and navigate Swiss regulatory developments. Hybrid role requiring German and English fluency.

This position serves as a central figure within the Regulatory Affairs Switzerland team, which oversees the relationship with the group-wide supervisor FINMA and other key Swiss authorities. The incumbent will lead key supervisory projects, analyze regulatory changes impacting the business, and represent the company’s interests in expert groups and industry associations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the relationship with FINMA, handling supervisory requests, filings, and regulatory reporting.
  • Lead or support interdisciplinary teams for projects and transactions with supervisory implications.
  • Prepare for and coordinate regulatory interactions, including FINMA Supervisory College meetings, on-site inspections, and senior-level discussions.
  • Coordinate data calls, field testing exercises, and consultations.
  • Identify, assess, and monitor significant regulatory developments and associated risks.
  • Facilitate internal understanding of regulatory impacts and prepare the organization for upcoming requirements.
  • Maintain close cooperation with internal stakeholders across Business Units, Finance, Legal & Compliance, and Risk Management.
  • Support the creation of briefing materials and presentations for the Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Coordinate internal reports and presentations.
  • Represent Swiss Re at industry events and meetings as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of the re-/insurance regulatory framework and supervisory practices in Switzerland or a comparable jurisdiction.
  • Proven experience in the (re)insurance industry or relevant authorities, with exposure to Supervision, Regulatory, Risk Management, Finance, Legal, Compliance, or Treasury/Capital Management.
  • Master’s degree in Law, Actuarial Sciences, Natural Science, Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, Political Science, or a related field.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to distill complex issues into concise memos and presentations.
  • Fluent oral and written communication skills in both German and English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience engaging external stakeholders and top management.
  • Collaborative team player who shares knowledge and brings people together across countries and functions.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.

What the company offers

  • Base salary between CHF 128,000 and CHF 192,000 for a full-time position.
  • Eligibility for an attractive performance-based annual bonus and additional rewards.
